12 years ago I stood before family and friends and made an incredible commitment to my wife. My commitment on my wedding day was to stand by my wife in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer and until death do us part. My commitment was to be faithful to her in public and in the private. My commitment was to be faithful in good times and in bad times. My commitment was to be faithful in the easy and in the hard circumstances.
Sometime back I was reading the Old Testament Book of Hosea. The Book of Hosea is this amazing book that shares with us in detail about God’s faithfulness to His people. Hosea 2:20 says, "I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the LORD." The book is full of Scripture about God's faithfulness to His people. Hosea not only reminds us of the faithfulness of God but it’s is also a challenge for us to be faithful to God in our own lives.
As followers of Christ, our call is to stay faithful to the Father in all circumstances (good and bad). So many times in our lives we are tempted to live non faithful lives. We are tempted to walk away from God. In the same way that my wife is pleased when I am faithful to her, I believe that God is pleased when we are faithful to Him. I believe that God desires not a halfhearted relationship but a fully committed and faithful relationship.
I want to challenge you today to live a live a life of complete faithfulness to God. Be faithful to God in private and in the public. Be faithful to God in the good times and in the bad times. Be faithful to God in the easy circumstances and in the hard circumstances. Be faithful always! Honor God with your faithfulness!
