In my early twenties I was very confused. I had a great career and was making a lot of money in my profession. I lived in a large house and owned a very expensive SUV. At the time I felt like that I had arrived in life. However outside of all of the material things, I had fallen apart. I had no relationship with my son. My marriage was broken. And I was addicted to numerous unhealthy habits.

When I turned 25, Christ invaded my life and changed me forever. Matthew 6:19-20 tells us to not store up treasures here on earth but to store up treasures in heaven. My life’s desire now is to not build earthly wealth but to live for the God of all creation. I had it wrong in my early twenties. I thought that I would be fulfilled and happy by building earthly wealth. However, this was far from the truth. I have since learned that my call is to not build earthly wealth but to build eternal wealth by storing up treasures in heaven.

Eternal wealth is built through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Here is my question for you today. Are you investing and building in the wealth of the world? Or are you investing and building in the wealth of a relationship with Jesus Christ? Know that wealth on this earth will come to an end but wealth in a relationship with Christ is eternal. May you focus on this as you go through life.

Have a great week!
