Pastor Joe Halbert
Pastor Joe Halbert began his ministry at Murrieta Gateway on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Pastor Joe has 29 Years of pastoral ministry experience. His experience includes youth ministry at Glendora Community, Glendora, CA. Lead pastor at Hillside Community in Rowland Heights, CA, Saturday Night Church at Olive Knolls, Bakersfield, CA. Joe has also served as Campus Pastor at Valley Center (PazNaz, LA Dist). His professional experience includes three years at the Center for Vocational Ministry at Azusa Pacific Seminary as a mentor to pastors and youth pastors throughout Southern, CA. For 16 years, he served Azusa Pacific Seminary as a ministry professor, where he taught graduate level courses. He holds an MA in Pastoral Studies (Azusa Pacific University). He is a certified instructor for Strengths Finder and the M-Core assessment program. Joe's wife, Cindy, is a first-grade educator. Their eldest daughter, Torrey, graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University and is a medical student (Doctor of Orthopathy) at the Western School of Medicine in Pomona, CA. Daughter, Hadley, currently attends Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA.
Pastor Roger Bowman
Pastor Roger came to Gateway in 2001 after over 35 years in full time ministry. A former District Superintendent, Roger was invited by founding pastor, Ken Coil, to join the staff as Pastor to Senior Adults. He is committed to leading lost and lonely seniors to Christ, equipping them for service, and helping them to finish the second half of life ready for heaven. He believes serving God and challenging seniors to leave a Godly heritage is a privilege and an honor.
Pastor Wally Yeager
Pastor Wally grew up in Yucaipa and moved back to Southern California in 2014 after a 21 year hiatus. During that time Wally, Susan, and their four boys have served in Clinton, IL; Dothan, AL; and Clovis, NM before making Gateway their home. The Yeagers are passionate about loving people. When they are not hanging out with teens and their families, they enjoy playing video games and watching their sons utilize the gifts and talents God has given them. Wally would spend every day at Disneyland if he thought he could get away with it.
Pastor Rick and Sara Brummett
Rick graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a Christian Education and Lay Ministry Development degree. He served as a missionary to the Philippines, on staff at Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary. Sara Paulson Brummett, a former Miss Oregon and national recording artist, has led in worship and concert ministry around the world. Sara has a bachelor’s degree in Theology at Portland Bible College and a master’s degree in Communication. Their son, Brice, plays drums for Sunday Morning Worship and you will frequently find him helping out around the church campus.
Kim has been Gateway's bookkeeper since 2014. Kim graduated from Kentucky State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration. After graduation, she moved to New Orleans to help manage the family home health business. Kim and her husband, Albert, are the parents of Kennedy and Bryce. After their experience with Hurricane Katrina, the Terhune family decided to move back to sunny California, along with Kim's mother, Barbara. They had never heard of Murrieta, California, but God had! And now it is home.
Joan and her husband, Joe, moved to the Temecula Valley and joined the Gateway Church of the Nazarene in 2005. She grew up in a parsonage and accepted Christ into her life at a very early age. Joan has lead Bible Studies both at church and in the workplace. Her passion is teaching all ages about God. She worked in the aerospace industry for 23 years in Human Resources. When she retired she went to work for the Los Angeles District Office for the Church of the Nazarene and worked there until they moved to Wildomar. She has served in Gateway's office since 2016.

Eliel Morales—Hispanic Ministry
Reverend Eliel Morales and his wife, Renee have attended Gateway for over twenty years. They volunteer their time heading up our Ministerio Hispano, faithfully serving Gateway’s growing Hispanic community every week.

Pastor Mel Rich
Pastor Mel Rich, recently served as our Interim-pastor. He was born and raised near here in Redlands, California. He attended Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene University), and later Nazarene Theological Seminary. He pastored four churches all in California: Lone Pine, San Luis Obispo, San Diego First Church, and Olive Knolls in Bakersfield, Ca. He was elected District Superintendent of the Central California District Church of the Nazarene in 1999. During his eleven years the district grew from 58 churches to 83. He was granted an Honorary Doctorate in Theology from PLNU in 2004. He maintains his youth through regular physical training, keeping a sense of humor, and allowing tears to flow when it happens. His goal during this time preparing for a new lead pastor was to encourage a genuine spirit of expectancy.
